NLC Peru 2019
Hello everyone! Many have been asking for an update on the trip and we’ve been working to get everything finalized before I sent something out to you guys… Here’s what I know right now.
Flights from Fort Smith really jumped in cost over the last year. It would have pushed the total trip cost over $3,000. The prices to fly from DFW are drastically less expensive… In some cases, ticket prices were up to $1,200 cheaper per person. That being said, we’ve decided to depart out of Dallas to keep the trip cost down.
We are working with the travel agent to lock in ticket prices, but he hasn’t finished that process yet, so I don’t have a final trip cost calculated yet. I’m expecting it to be one of the more inexpensive trips to Peru that we’ve taken, but I would have to speculate until everything is finalized.
One of the other variables is departure date. To get the least expensive tickets, the travel agent is looking into a July 4th evening departure. At this time, I do not know if that is the case, but I wanted to make you aware that it’s a possibility. If the price is considerably less, it’s an option that we’ll look into. but right now, I simply do not know.

Right now, the trip cost posted is at $2,900. This is not the actual trip cost, for the reasons stated above. It should be considerably less.
In summary — I know there are some unknowns with the travel and cost aspects of this trip, but it’s looking to be less expensive than we initially thought, but with the added bit of departing from DFW. If you’re okay with those variables, please go ahead and begin the application process.
Remember — there are only 25 spots available for this trip. It will fill up quickly. There are people from other campuses already on the waiting list for this trip. If you believe God was leading you to go to Peru this summer — begin with the application as soon as you can.
